Three candidates in the Ondo Governorship primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have registered their displeasure at the party for submitting the name of Rotimi Akeredolu as its flag bearer in the next governorship election.
Olusola Oke, Robert Boroffice and Olusegun Abraham, at a press conference in Akure on Friday said the primaries was characterized by irregularities and corruption.
Boroffice said the party’s chairman, John Oyegun upheld the primary even as it was clear that it was not free and fair.
“He (Oyegun) rejected the path of truth and upheld the primary election that its process was characterized with corruption,” Boroffice said.
“We are determined to liberate our people and no undemocratic decision of a party and its leadership will be allowed to misdirect our attention from the goal,” he continued.
Oke on his part said he was yet to leave the party because he was having “a wide consultation among the people”.
He said reports that he has joined another party were the wishes of his supporters who want him to contest.
“As at today, we remain members of APC.
“In the days to come we will reach out to our people whose desire is our command to decide the next line of action,” Oke said.
