We have not heard much from or about the wife of the President, Mrs Aisha Buhari since President Buhari’s drama-filled medical vacation and return.
We thought she was just done publicly appearing before people who dare suggest that she partook in a photoshop stunt engineered to fool the country about the President’s well-being.
Anyway, the Wife of the President has returned (or so we thought). She was billed to attend an event organised by the UNFPA, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Nigeria’s Permanent Mission to the UN on the sidelines of the 50th Session of United Nations Commission on Population and Development, which held recently in New York.
Except that she did not. She was represented at the event by Dr Hajo Sani, Mrs Buhari’s right-hand woman.
She stressed the need for more investment in out-of-school teenage girls, noting that a substantial number of the girls have either not completed their education or have never attended school and that this portends unpleasant consequences for humanity. efforts of the wife of the President under her
She also said that the wife of the President under her Future Assured Programme has been advocating for the promotion of girl-child education, and vocational education through which thousands of women are being trained in fashion design, interior decoration, cosmetics development, leather work and many other trades.
