After performing at the Staples centre in her Diamonds tour on Monday night, the 25-year-old singer had some rare down time.

Meanwhile, Brown went casual in a grey tracksuit, white trainers and a backwards cap.
The couple were seen rolling up in Chris’s chocolate-coloured Porsche to a clothing store called Wild Style.
Inside the pair perused the racks but seemingly exited the shop empty handed.

Rihanna had earlier tweeted a picture of the pair sitting in the car, beaming from ear-to-ear.
The snap showed the Stay singer snuggled up with a smiling Chris as they zipped around the Los Angeles city streets in his convertible.
The accompanying caption – full of colourful language – made it clear Rihanna was in a lighthearted mood: ‘This s*** look like a toupee.’

The quip was a self-deprecating reference to her windblown hair as she sat next to the grinning 23-year-old Don’t Judge Me recording artist in the driver’s seat.

The Instagram caption for the picture was full of playful braggadocio: ‘Yellow model chick in my yellow a** dress wit my yellow n**** X’

But while the pair were putting on a happy face for Instagram, other snaps showed the couple looking tense and possibly at times in mid-argument.
Chris was seen with what can only be described as an annoyed look on his face as he spoke to his girlfriend, who sat in the passenger seat.
At one point Rihanna was seen looking away from her man, looking reflective.
In fact Chris’s moods appeared to shift up and down during the date, with the singer also sharing some laughs with the songstress at other times.

The duo’s tense demeanour comes after it was recently reported that while they are still together, they have been fighting in recent weeks.
‘Every second it’s a blow-up and then full on in love,’ a source told Us Weekly.
The root of the couple’s problems are said to stem from their busy schedules, with both busy working on their music careers.
‘She’s touring and working her a** off, and he’s working his off in the studio,’ the source added.

On Monday night at her sold out show in Los Angeles, Rihanna hinted that all is not well in her romantic life.
The pop star, who is currently on her Diamonds world tour, asked the audience: ‘How many of you are in love?
‘How many of you hate love? How many of you don’t f**king understand it? I’m in that group.’
The confession came, according to People.com, as an introduction to her new song What Now from her latest album.
The lyrics for the new track are quite revealing: ‘I’ve been ignoring this big lump in my throat. I shouldn’t be crying, tears were for the weaker days.

While the singer may be embroiled in relationship trouble, she took to the stage dressed like royalty.

The petite songstress completed the outfit with black and gold briefs, a leather bikini top, and a diaphanous shirt.

The Barbados native has been finding it difficult to see Chris, who is gearing up to release his new album X.
The couple – who reconciled last year even though Chris is still on probation for beating her in 2009 – were spotted partying separately at different Los Angeles hotspots last weekend.
But friends of the couple also insist they are still together and just have a lot going on.

The insider went on to explain: ‘They’ve been trying to connect but it hasn’t been clicking for them. It ain’t like Rihanna got time to just chill and run through – she’s on tour and her schedule is way too tight.’
