Rita Dominic wins ‘Best Actress’: See AMAA 2012 list of winners

The 2012 African Movie Academy Awards took place at the Expo Hall of the Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos, Nigeria last night with Hollywood actor, Jimmy Jean-Louis and Nigerian actor, OC Ukeje as hosts.

Our very own ‘Winch,’ Hauwa Gambo had made some predictions of winners earlier in the day prior to the show and when the predictions started becoming realities we were electrified. Gambo got it right on Best Diaspora Short Film, cinematography, Soundtrack winner and a couple of others.

– Best Actor in a Supporting Role: Fano Mokoena (Man on Ground)

– Best Actress in a supporting role: Terry Pheto (How to Steal 2 Million)

– Best Actor in a leading role: Majid Michel (Somewhere in Africa, Ghana)

– Best Actress in a leading role: Rita Dominic (Shattered)

– Best Director: Charlie Vundla (How to Steal 2 Million, S.A)

– Special Jury Award: Man on Ground (Nigeria and South Africa)
