Five people were killed by unknown gunmen in Nasara on Monday at Giza, headquarters of Giza Development Area, Keana Local Government Area.
This number of casualties were confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Umar Ismaila who added that investigations are ongoing in unraveling the reason behind the deadly attack. He added that the command had deployed adequate personnel to the area to restore normalcy.
This facts as stated by the police was, however, challenged by witnesses who said the attackers killed several people and destroyed millions of naira worth of property.
Sources say the attack which started around 6am affected the palace of the paramount ruler of Giza chiefdom, Umaru Abu II.
“They came and killed several people. As I speak to you, we have been able to recover nine corpses from the surrounding bushes. We are still looking for others. The ones so far discovered have been taken for burial,” the source said.
