A woman in Bauchi has had her eyes plucked out after she was attacked by suspected ritualists on her way home from a ceremony.
The victim, identified as Zainab Mohammed, was said to have been waylaid by 3 unidentified men who subsequently escaped after the act.
The incident occurred in the Lukshi village environs of the Dass Local Government Area of the state.
The victim was abandoned at the scene of the crime by the perpetrators and only received succour when she was rescued by police officers who took her to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital for treatment.
The incident has been confirmed by the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Haruna Mohammed, who is also the police spokesman in the state.
