It is highly unlikely that when authorities at the Kiddie City Childcare Centre in Vicksburg, Mississippi had surveillance cameras installed, they expected to record any footage beyond infants falling while chasing after toys, or perhaps someone breaking in after everyone had left. Unfortunately the footage attached to this post which was recorded at the daycare is something much more disturbing.
A 9-year-old boy is caught on camera repeatedly attacking toddlers in the daycare. His victims, all of whom were female, were subjected to punches, violent shaking, biting and kicking. Even more disconcerting is that a daycare worker was present while all this happened, but was apparently too distracted with something in the window, giving the boy ample time to exact his reign of terror. The boy is also seen on video sending the toddlers flying with forceful kicks to their backs.
Jamie Williams, the father of one of the assaulted toddlers was arrested and charged with simple misdemeanor assault after going into the daycare and slapping a child he thought was responsible for the bite marks and busted lip his daughter came home with. This caused the police to launch the investigation into the daycare during which the footage was discovered.
49-year-old Sandra Trevillion, the day care worker in the video, was arrested and charged with two counts of contributing to the neglect of a minor. “Sandra Trevillion was the one that was in the room most of the time and she obviously did a very poor job, and that’s what brought us to knowing that she needed to be charged for not performing her duties,” said Vicksburg Police chief Walter Armstrong.
The boy’s aunt who spoke to local TV news admitted that he had anger issues for which he took medication, describing him as “bad”, but also saying he was “a normal child”. His mother, on the other hand, said she was shocked by his actions.
