Leader of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), Chief Edwin Clark on Friday said those behind the renewed attacks on pipelines “enemies of the people and criminals”.
Clark also said it was worrisome that some militant groups continued hostilities despite attempts by the leaders of the region to broker peace with the Federal Government.
Clark spoke on Friday at a meeting of PANDEF, stating that those still bombing pipelines were misguided and tools in the hands of selfish politicians and contractors.
“To vent anger on government can never receive the blessings of PANDEF, we cannot continue to cut our noses to spite our faces,” he said.
Clark also urged Buhari to “go on acting on the requests we made on the 1st of November. We will deal with this situation. We will not sit down at home with arms folded and allow some few individuals to destroy our destiny.”
