Twitter and other social media platforms were yesterday inundated with reports of a young doctor, identified as Irawo Adamolekun, who was shot in the head at Anthony Village, Lagos.

The assailant was said to have shot the victim in the head, crossed the road, boarded a waiting motorcycle and left.

An eyewitness gave account of the sad incident thus:

We hope the Nigerian police will do everything it can to get to the bottom of this needless crime.

May Adamolekun’s soul rest in peace.
