The Late 5: Okorocha renames Ministry of Happiness, Makarfi’s request to Atiku and, other top stories

The Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of the PDP, Ahmed Makarfi, has asked former vice president, Atiku Abubakar to help the party get back to Aso Rock in 2019.

Meanwhile, the National Chairman of the APC, John Odigie-Oyegun has said Atiku’s exit from the party will not lead to mass defection from the party.

Reacting to that, however, the Deputy Publicity Secretary of the APC, Timi Frank, said Oyegun’s incompetence chased Atiku out of the party.


The new Commissioner for Happiness and Couples Fulfilment in Imo, Ogechi Ololo, has said the people of the state are happy with the new ministry.

Also, the governor, Rochas Okorocha said there was a typographical error in the Ministry’s name, he, therefore, provided the new name.


The Nigerian Police has released the detained BudgIT officer, Moses Motoni, who was arrested on the order of two National Assembly members.

The Police said the arrest was not co-ordinated by SARS.

Also on the #EndSARS campaign, the governor of Gombe, Ibrahim Dankwambo, has added his voice to the campaign, saying the people who are supposed to be protecting are actually killing people.


President Muhammadu Buhari arrived Kano today on a two-day visit.

He released 500 prison inmates and reacting to the crowd that welcomed him, he said he would surely win another election.


The Federal Executive Council has asked the Minister of State for Petroleum, Ibe Kachikwu and the NNPC boss, Maikanti Baru to clear fuel queues that are gradually increasing in Lagos and Abuja.
