Nigerian athlete and World 100m hurdle record holder Tobi Amusan has been named the official Flagbearer for the Nigerian delegation at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics, which will take place on Friday, July 26.
The announcement was made by the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC), making the young athlete the first track and field athlete in two decades (20 years) to be named Nigeria’s flagbearer.
In another appointment made public by the NOC, Badminton player Anuoluwapo Opeyori was bestowed the position of the General Team captain for Nigeria in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
