Every day, there are people who keep our eyes glued to our phone screens as we read their rants, opinions, perspectives on political and social matters, etc. Sometimes, they are just downright ridiculous. We make it our job to take down the names of these noisemakers.
Here’s our list from today:
1 Hadiza Bala Usman vs The Breaking Post NG
In keeping with their name, the Breaking Post NG released an ‘EXCLUSIVE’ story which claimed that the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority, Hadiza Usman and governor of Kaduna state, El Rufai had engaged in bribery.
The NPA MD took it in stride and fired back with this information
My lawyers have been briefed and I shall proceed with filling a suit…@Breakingpost_ng you will be held accountable for your actions..
— Hadiza Bala Usman (@hadizabalausman) March 23, 2017
I never earned N2mill in FCT as an intern or NYSC. I didn't even do my NYSC in FCT..pls get your facts right before speaking
— Hadiza Bala Usman (@hadizabalausman) March 23, 2017
My lawyers will be contacting @Breakingpost_ng @EkwoAmaka @AmakaEkwo to challenge them in court on defamation of character..
— Hadiza Bala Usman (@hadizabalausman) March 22, 2017
It is important that people know there will be consequences when they slander and defame #ResponsibleJournalism

Breaking Post went on bended knees:
This gave Twitter NG the opportunity to voice their disaffection, once more, with Fake news and their purveyors:

?? I encourage people to get a lawyer, go to court. Let's test our laws; let people know that slander —online or offline—has consequences! https://t.co/9tPevIpPST

We watch and wait.
PS:
Good journalism: calm, rational, report facts, provide context.
Bad journalism: over-dramatise, overly emotive, fear before facts.

2. Demola Olarewaju
Another political office holder who’s run off to the courts for protection is Babachir Lawal of grass cutting/IDP infamy.
You may recall that he was fingered for sweeping into his private coffers monies meant for IDP relief. Well, the Senate invited him for a chat and guess what? He won’t be available.
Demola Olarewaju rants about it:
SGF Babachir Lawal has run to Court to avoid facing the @NGRSenate today over his role in using NGN200m to cut grass in IDP camp.
— Demola Olarewaju (@DemolaRewaju) March 23, 2017
MD of the company that facilitated the scam – Rholavision – is also unavailable. Travelled to the village for a burial and has no telephone.
— Demola Olarewaju (@DemolaRewaju) March 23, 2017
This Babachir Lawal cried to the high heavens saying @NGRSenate didn't invite him for hearing before producing the report that indicted him.
— Demola Olarewaju (@DemolaRewaju) March 23, 2017
So @NGRSenate now says "come" (never mind that he'd appeared before) – SGF Babachir Lawal instead runs to Court to avoid facing the Senate.
— Demola Olarewaju (@DemolaRewaju) March 23, 2017
This APC Govt is not only breeding, protecting and shielding corrupt public officers – it is prepared to crash Democracy to do it.

3. @4eyedmonk vs Oddy4real
When a sub doesn’t quite hit its mark.
These two went toe to toe over some politicians’ certificate matters.
Senator that does not know that by merely attending a course at Harvard does not make you an Harvard graduate.
— HENRY Okelue (@4eyedmonk) March 23, 2017
Reminds me of the President that produced 13 SANS when asked when to produce ordinary SSCE certificate. https://t.co/kfAGj4nj37

4. Victor Asemota
Entrepreneur and founder of Swifta Systems, Victor engaged techies on Twitter on the following:
Borrowing from @BillGates – Nigerian techies seem to overestimate their abilities in the short term and underestimate longer-term potential
— Victor Asemota (@asemota) March 23, 2017
A lot of people rush to create ventures without a deep understanding of market fundamentals and without domain expertise. Hype dies finally.
— Victor Asemota (@asemota) March 23, 2017
When reality sets in, what you think was an advantage becomes a threshold competence. Everyone else will have it. Advantage does not last.

6. @Snikoggs
After being outed as a comic tweet thief, @Snikoggs tried his hand at crafting his own jokes today. Here’s what he came up with:
Saw that Edo spirit whore today driving the dirtiest Benz ever.
Carry shit car.
— Mister Lover Lover (@Snikoggs) March 23, 2017
Nigerians came for him in droves:

7. Minna Salami
We reported the terrorist incident which took place in London yesterday. Minna Salami has a few words for London residents:
No matter what happens; be it terrorism, recession, Brexit – carry on, do NOT shut down, pretend it's not a mess. WORK.

7. Kelechi Okafor
Kelechi’s grouse is with black men who reckon that just because they enjoy seeing black women in porn movies, they therefore have no issues with preferences.
Do see below:
Black activist men telling me they don't like black women wearing weave but they stay dating light skinned women with loose curls.
— Kelechi Okafor (@kelechnekoff) March 23, 2017
You can be about the cause in the streets but still deeply colonised in the sheets.
— Kelechi Okafor (@kelechnekoff) March 23, 2017
People try to act like decolonisation is a one-time job. No. There are crevices of our consciousness still under siege.
— Kelechi Okafor (@kelechnekoff) March 23, 2017
You're not exempt from critique just because you've labelled something as a "preference." A lot of preferences are informed by environment.
— Kelechi Okafor (@kelechnekoff) March 23, 2017
I guess after all that work overthrowing white supremacist patriarchy you can't help but equate light skinned women as "more feminine" still
— Kelechi Okafor (@kelechnekoff) March 23, 2017
Whether black men still go to watch ebony porn isn't actually proof of dark skinned black women being desirable, just hyper sexualised.
— Kelechi Okafor (@kelechnekoff) March 23, 2017
This is where the colonisation aspect comes in. The ideology that it is ok to see dark skinned BW as sites of sexual depravity…
— Kelechi Okafor (@kelechnekoff) March 23, 2017
But still date lighter skinned women because their closer proximity to Eurocentric standards of beauty makes them more pure.
— Kelechi Okafor (@kelechnekoff) March 23, 2017
So citing porn as an indicator that BM do indeed find dark skinned BW desirable, is slightly flawed.
— Kelechi Okafor (@kelechnekoff) March 23, 2017
We all have a lot of work to do. I am tempted to say BM have more work to do because they're complicit in our oppression, but meh.
— Kelechi Okafor (@kelechnekoff) March 23, 2017
