Following the budget padding allegations saga in the House of Representatives, agents of the State Security Service on Saturday, reportedly sealed the House committee on Appropriation secretariat.
According to Premium Times, SSS officials stormed the secretariat and immediately placed it under lock and key.
The budget padding allegations started when former Chairman House Committee on Appropriation, Abdulmumin Jibrin accused Speaker Dogara and three other principal officers of inflating the budget figures.
Jibrin accused them of attempting to add N40 billion to the budget, which the speaker vehemently denied, threatening to sue him.
The sources said the SSS also sealed Jibrin’s office at Room 1.05 in the New House of Representatives building.
Jibrin on Thursday released a statement that Dogara ordered removal of workstation from the Appropriation Committee Secretariat and allegedly attempted to break into his office.
