Buhari may not work with EFCC, ICPC in recovering stolen monies

President Buhari may not work with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the Independent Corrupt Practices and other anti-graft agencies in his government’s efforts to recover stolen funds, Punch reports.

The reports states that the President does not have enough confidence in the anti-graft agencies, hence he may rely more on people outside the system to recover the loot from foreign countries.

A top government official, who is privy to the efforts made by Buhari’s government in getting back the stolen monies, disclosed that;

“The President’s body language as far as the anti-corruption agencies are concerned suggests that he does not have so much confidence in them.

“Most of the recovery job may be done by people outside the system, like consultants.”

“I can confirm to you that the President has received plenty information that is useful for the recovery process. Anti-graft agencies are not the sources of the information. He got the information from different sources, including anonymous and known sources,” he said.
