Desperate man, Buruj Kashamu has threatened to commit suicide

by Kolapo Olapoju

Ogun Senator-elect Buruji Kashamu whose home is surrounded by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), has threatened to kill himself.

The NDLEA officials are in his home to pick him up as part of the process of extraditing him to the United States, where he is wanted by prosecutors to face drug smuggling charges.

In a telephone conversation with SaharaReporters, Kashamu said he’d rather kill himself than surrender to the NDLEA operatives.

He was reported as saying that the agents had broken his door with the intention of abducting him and that the only reason he was not abducted already was because he had threatened to commit suicide if the NDLEA agents break into his bedroom where he has locked himself up.

His home, which is at Oladipo Omotosho Street in Lekki Phase 1, is presently surrounded by heavily armed NDLEA agents, who are also everywhere on the street.

Kashamu reportedly said he will accept house arrest until Monday, when he can face the NDLEA in court to determine the legality of his extradition.

  1. I believe that clear conscience fears no acusation,If Buruji has no skeleton in the hiden why afraid?,the athony general has made it clear that America govt has followed due process by making formal request through the federal govt for his extradiction,I would advice Buruji to cooperate.
