Jesse Jagz to copy Olamide’s indigenous rap style

Rapper, Jesse Jagz, who is signed to Chocolate City, has revealed that some of his newly recorded songs will have an infusion of the Yoruba language.

The rapper, in a recent interview with Vanguard, said he has come to the realization that ‘indigenous rappers are more successful’ in Lagos, and possibly in the entirety of Nigeria.

The versatile rapper/producer also believes that rappers are influential in the Nigerian music industry, noting that the biggest artistes in country are ‘rappers’.

Jess Jagz said: “The rap scene in Nigeria is blossoming, the top five artistes in Nigeria are probably rappers.”

“When it comes to Lagos, Indigenous rappers are more successful because of the cultural heritage and the way the Yoruba language is being adopted in their music.”

“I have also adopted the Yoruba language in some of my new songs. All these things have to be put into consideration.”
