Shiite sect leader, Ibraheem El-Zakzaky ‘not in Kaduna Prisons’

Contrary to what is being circulated in certain media platforms, the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Ibraheemm El-Zakzaky, may not be in Kaduna Prisons.

El-Zakzaky was arrested after the December 12-13 clash between the Shiite sect and the Nigerian Army. He was subsequently transferred to the custody of the Nigerian Police.

Controller of the Kaduna Prisons, Abubakar Argungu, has denied that El-Zakazaky, was imprisoned in the facility.

“We only have 191 followers of the Shi’ite sects in our custody. But we do not have their leader, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky with us,” Argungu was quoted by Premium Times to have said on Wednesday.
