Tiwa Savage debuted in 2010 with the hit song “Ife wa gbona,” quickly establishing herself as a megastar in Nigeria and beyond. Over the years, she has released numerous hits, solidifying her reputation as one of Nigeria’s most prolific female vocalists.
With over 14 years in the music industry, Tiwa Savage has decided to expand her horizons by partnering with Amazon Prime in 2024 to release her debut film, “Water & Garri,” accompanied by an eponymous album.
This year, Tiwa has achieved remarkable success, earning her a spot among the 10 leadingNigerian artists of 2024. Despite facing challenges that have impacted her career, she has remained resilient, standing firm against adversity and the media and further promoting herself as the “Nigerian Beyoncé.”
Tiwa started the year with a single titled “Forgiveness,” which garnered limited attention in Nigeria. However, she quickly shifted her focus to filmmaking.
In addition to her film work, Tiwa Savage performed the original soundtrack for the animated film “Ozi: Voice of the Forest.” The song was released in August 2024, and while it did not perform well on Spotify, she persevered and saw great success with her album “Water & Garri.” Singles from the album, like “Commona” featuring Olamide and Mystro and “Kilimanjaro” featuring Black Sherif and Young John, has amassed over 3.3 million streams.
Tiwa has also collaborated on popular tracks this year, including the remix of “Awolowo” by Fido, “Toma Toma” with Ruger, and “In My Head” by Timaya.
She recently released her latest single, “Mega Money Mega,” which has climbed the Nigerian charts.
