FC Barcelona’s 39 matches run of being unbeaten has finally come to an end -thanks to a late Cristiano Ronaldo goal.
Real Madrid came from behind to earn a well deserved victory at Camp Nou on Saturday night, a result that dents Barcelona’s title hopes.
On the night, the hosts fired first as a Gerard Pique powerful header put them in the driving seat.
However, a 62-minute volleyed strike from Karim Benzema leveled matters in the fiery El Clasico match.
Cristiano Ronaldo eventually sealed victory for Real Madrid by nicking the ball through Barcelona’s goalkeeper Claudio Bravo’s leg in the 85th minute, almost immediately after Sergio Ramos had been sent off for a second bookable offence.
The match finished 2-1 as the visitors celebrated a hard fought victory.
