1). Join a gym
Let’s face it, many of us will probably throw caution to the wind with regards to food this festive season. Who can blame you? No one wants to be on a diet when there are loads of delicious delicacies everywhere. If you add a few pounds, don’t worry, just sign up for a gym or body boot camp to bring that sexy back.
2). Trash those resolutions
Every year we make new resolutions and every year, we break them. If you’re not tired of making resolutions you won’t keep, why don’t you try setting well-thought out goals. It does not have to be a long list. Two or three can be sufficient. Then set out a plan to achieve those goals. You’re more likely to achieve these than random resolutions.
3). Visit a spa
You want to start the new year as relaxed as possible. What’s better than a deep soothing massage to achieve this? There also many treatments for your skin and body available. Why don’t you give this a try?
4). Try your hands on something new
Break routine habits, try something you’ve never done before in the new year. You can learn a new language or enrol for a dance class. Whatever you choose, do something new to make your life more exciting.
5). Pursue that dream job
Have you given up on your heart’s desire? Now is the perfect opportunity to rekindle that dead dream. Take a shot and apply for that dream job. Who knows, you just might get it.
6). Make new friends
We know you love your friends till death, but it may be time to widen your horizon just a little bit. Increase your sphere of influence, network and make new friends. You’ll be glad you did.
7). Explore the world
Are you one of those people that just travels to London and America? Let’s mix it up a bit this new year. The world has so many amazing places for you to visit. Book a trip to Morocco or the Philippines. See what other countries have to offer.
8). Say the words ‘I love you’
Use the new year to appreciate those who made 2012 worthwhile for you. Tell them you love them. You can also extend the love to those around you. You just might bring joy to a lonely heart.
9). Go shopping
The new year gives you the perfect excuse to splurge a bit. Go for some retail therapy; acquire new things. Just be careful not to overdo it and damage your bank account; afterall, you still have 11 months to go.
10). Give back
Use the new year to give back to the less privileged. They may have made it to the new year, but they may still need someone to care for them. Do something caring and thoughtful. You can also begin to mentor young people around you. Now is the perfect time to make a difference in someone’s life
11). Read
This new year, be wise – read. Reading brings knowledge: it sharpens your mind. If you already love reading, become a more voracious reader. If you don’t love to read; just try it. You’ll begin to expand you horizon.
12). Get closer to God
He brought you through the new year so the least you can do is to be thankful. You can take it a step further and get closer to Him. Work on your relationship with God, take Him seriously and watch your life transform throughout the year.
