#TheNextBigThing: “I have to say things have been very easy for me” – 16-year old Kid Blaize

Describe yourself in one sentence:

I’m Adelana Olaosebikan, a 16-year-old artiste who goes by the stage name; Kid Blaize.

What kind of music do you do and where do you get inspiration from?

My genre is good Music .I am naturally a rapper but I also sing . I am inspired by my moods, some types of beats and artistes such as J. Cole.

How long have you been doing music?

I have always been into music from an early age although I was never in a church choir or any of those things most artistes say but I started writing my own songs and verses when I was thirteen.
When can the public share your music?

We definitely have big things coming very soon .I’m currently working on some songs with a couple of mainstream artists that are set to be big hits. I also just released a song ‘Closer to me’ so you all should check that out and stay tuned for more Kidblaize music.

 

Do you receive support from home?

Definitely. My parents and my family are in full support of my music and I love them for that.

How lucrative is the music business now for you?

We are far from our peak but I can say I’m doing okay

 

Combining music and studying can be difficult. How have you fared?

I have to say it has been very easy for me. I have learnt to balance my education and my music ambition very well and there have been no problems at all.

Have you entered for any of the numerous talent hunt shows?
No.

 

What has been your biggest musical gig so far?

That would be my performance at MTN’s industry night alongside Levelz.

 

Share your thoughts on the music industry.

I feel it has come a long way and I’m currently very proud of it, but it still has a long way to go.

 

Where do you see yourself five years from now?

Making good music like I love doing and working on my album.
