A few weeks ago, the Central bank of Nigeria (CBN) released a new foreign exchange policy that Nigerians on social media found unfavourable – or outrightly harebrained.
According to the policy, Hajj pilgrims will be able to buy the dollar at a subsidized rate of N197 despite the fact that the US currency sells for more than $350 to the Naira.
YNaija TV in a new program tagged #30Days30Voices took to the streets of Lagos to find out what citizens feel about the new policy asking them the question – should government subsidize forex for pilgrims?
We met a young citizen at the University of Lagos who had quite a lot to say on the issue.
