All Progressives Congress presidential aspirant, Atiku Abubakar, has stated that he has a healthy chance of winning the party’s ticket.
Speaking ahead of the party’s national convention, holding at Teslim Balogun Stadium, on Wednesday, December 10, Atiku expressed optimism in representing the APC at the presidential election in 2015.
The former vice president made the comments on Monday, December 8, at a media parley addressed on his behalf by the chairman, Abubakar Atiku Campaign Organisation, Chief Babalola Borisade, in Lagos.
Atiku said he has a 65 per cent chance of emerging as the 2015 presidential candidate of APC at its national convention, because he had visited 35 states of the federation, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, to sell his candidature to delegates.
Furthermore, Atiku also reiterated that he was not opposed to idea of picking the presidential candidate of APC through a consensus arrangement, but added that no consensus was better than a national convention.
He said: “We are not opposed to consensus, what we are saying is that no consensus is better than the one reached by over 7,000 delegates at a national convention. Let us go for a convention, where all delegates would vote. These are people who were elected at the local level of the party.”
Over 7,000 party delegates are expected to vote for the candidate to win the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Atiku is clearly better prepared than other APC aspirants and other candidates vying for the presidency because of his clear and well articulated vision and objectives for Nigeria and Nigerians.
