According to reports, armed men suspected to be members of Islamist sect , Boko Haram , on Wednesday night, allegedly attacked Buni Yadi, the headquarters of Gujba local government area in Yobe State.
The gunmen were said to have stormed Buni Yadi town at about 9.00pm armed to the teeth, dressed in army uniforms and started shooting sporadically.
It was gathered that the suspected Islamists escaped through a bush path, the same way they took the villagers unawares.
Several lives were reportedly lost, although the number of casualties is not yet known.
