While the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, is in the battle of his life at the Code of Conduct Tribual, over false declaration of assets, some vultures are said to be on standby to pick his bones.
According to Kaduna-based National Mirror, the folks at the All Progressive Congress may already be considering another candidate to take Saraki’s place as Senate President.
Despite the fact that Saraki may possibly be declared innocent of all charges- the report says the candidates being lined up are Senate leader; George Akume, wife of the national leader of the APC, Bola Tinubu- Remi Tinubu and two other ranking senators from the South West zone.
While some groups have begun to lobby for the resignation of Saraki- the APC is said to prefer a candidate from the South West as replacement.
It’s a bit far-fetched, but little is impossible in Nigerian politics.
The trial of Bukola Saraki is expected to continue on October 21 at the Code of Conduct Tribunal.
