The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Adamu Mu’azu, has admitted that the party was affected by the defection of five of its governors to the opposition All Progressives Congress.
However, Mu’azu says the party has since gotten out of the shock of losing the governors to the opposition, noting that the situation had been reversed and that the ruling party will coast to victory at the upcoming elections.
In a statement released in Abuja on Monday, February 2, Mu’azu declared that the PDP was going to be victorious at the February 14 presidential poll, saying: “We have put our best foot forward and in reviewing the campaign tour so far, I have no reason to doubt that victory will be the reward of our hard work, In sha Allah.”
The statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Chief Tony Amadi, read in part: “When the campaign started, it was clear that the opposition had gone far in distorting the achievements of our great party. When they shout change, they don’t tell Nigerians what they want to change. Do they want to change the sound educational policy of the PDP which has been hailed all around the country as the route to transformation of the country’s democratic institutions?”
“In the North, the popularity of our Almajiri schools system has finally solved the educational backwardness in the three zones of the giant North. We shall follow this up with a revolution in the Nomadic Education system started by the Babangida regime in the 1980’s and we would have wiped out ignorance.”
“On insurgency, positive results are emerging from the combined forces of our neighbours who have realized that Boko Haram is not just a threat to Nigeria, but also a major regional threat and the need for a combined effort to wipe out this Al-Qaeda inspired menace should be dealt a fatal blow by a combined regional force. What will APC change in tackling insurgency as they have claimed every day of the campaign? Absolutely nothing! All that they will change is that they will apply their propaganda.”

It must truely be a shock to the Gov. Muazu and PDP that five of its governors turn a new leaf. The PDP may coast to victory only if the wishes of the electorate is not being respected. As if it matters.I really think the PDP is clueless and should move aside to allow APC to take charge of the central.Another four years to corruption, bad educational system, doctors just returned to the office after 3 months old strike, bad Power, dead refineries, youth unemployment!the slap on us is the so much corruption going on and yet the govt couldn’t use its anti-corruption agents to prosecute criminals. Buruju Kasamu is a wanted drug barron wanted by the US govt, yet he is a PDP helmsman!somebody bought a bullet prove car worth about 400M in this country, Faruk Lawan bribery case has been a thing of the past. All under this GEJ.Gov. Muazu should identify with honesty and not deceive his boss!My analysis and score card to GEJ govt is a woefull failure!a disappointment-Immigration exploitation and deaths of our innocent Children.Men and Women who would have added to building this Nation, Nigeria.
I am not a Politician, I am a Lawyer, a political spectator, I belief in working an organisation to develop from what it use to be and become what it ought to be.On Education, Gov. Muazu must stop deceiving his boss!the problem of education in this country is a bane of my heart!. Mr Muazu sir, Your children are possibly in London, US or Canada studying in the most favourable condition. You lack an idea. A govt must provide institutions to ensure that education is the priority, well Mr President created more federal school, and ASUU, and NUT strike has always been a birthday. It must happen in a year except for the fact that the date is not fixed. Almajiri school is a good step and an initiate that has since been welcomed by Babangida regime, govt must do the work of impacting knowledge through its policies.Education is key!it must never be tampered with as a right a child is entitled to in the world now.Thank You.
