Taofiq Isa, the administrator of Ijumu local government area of Kogi State, has said he was never arrested by the police over the alleged attack on the senator representing Kogi west senatorial district, Dino Melaye.
Speaking on Wednesday evening at the state secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), in Lokoja, Isa described the report of his arrest as strange.
The LG administrator said he was only invited by the state command of the Nigeria Police on Tuesday where he had a discussion with the police commissioner.

Isa added that during the meeting with the police command he made a statement clearing himself of the allegations levelled against him by Melaye.
