Save for the first week after housemates moved into the ‘Shine Ya Eyes’ House, on every other day since the start of this season’s Big Brother Naija show, it feels like the House has been on fire. A fight is sure to erupt as housemates get at each other’s throat.

Last night, this trend followed suit as another intense argument broke out. It was trouble in paradise as a game of truth or dare quickly turned sour after Angel partook in a dare Sammie didn’t like. Angel was dared to kiss a guy and choose to kiss the new guy; Kayvee.

This action didn’t sit well with Sammie because he couldn’t wrap his head around the fact that Angel choose to kiss someone she barely knew. On the other hand, Angel noted that she choose to kiss a perpetual stranger, rather than one of his friends because she didn’t want to hurt his feelings. Sammie’s counter argument was that he didn’t get mad when Angel kissed Saga last week, so why would he get mad now. The fact that she kissed the new guy was something he didn’t appreciate.

One word led to another and the whole thing imploded. Angel was adamant that she felt slut shamed and judged by him. Sammie on the other hand, admitted to being jealous, but had no intent to slut shame her. It’s easy to understand the feeling of both housemates. For starters, they have not made their relationship official but anyone would be remiss to end the debate there. Official or not, these two have invested some emotions in each other.

Sammie has gone on to let everyone know how he feels about Angel, and she has for the most part been receptive to his feelings, as is evident with how much they spend together. So jealousy doesn’t sound misplaced in anyway. However, Sammie by now should be aware of the fact that Angel is not particularly the grounded type. She is fun and free spirited, and has shown no sign of being someone ready to settle in. She has even noted by herself that she is ‘for the streets,’ so Sammie should at least know what to expect from her.

The fight between these two is telling of their feelings towards each other. There is clearly something there but the episode last night should be indicative of whether they should explore the spark between them or not. Whether Sammie slut shamed her or whether he was being too expressive; one thing is for certain. And that’s the fact that a relationship between them would simply be toxic if their characters differ this much.

Sammie would fit better with a more grounded girl, while Angel with fit better with a patient guy.
