On Thursday, January 22, there were hitches at the respective presidential campaigns of President Goodluck Jonathan and Muhammadu Buhari.

The candidates of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC), were in Buchi and Sokoto, respectively.

The venue of APC presidential campaign rally in Sokoto state was reportedly changed following a purported bomb scare.

The party is believed to have changed the venue of the rally from the Sokoto state stadium to the Sokoto Trade Fair complex, after a man on a motorcycle was said to have been arrested with two bombs.

Meanwhile, for the second time in a week, thugs beseiged the campaign ground of President Jonathan’s rally at the Ibrahim Babangida Square, in Bauchi.

The angry youths reportedly pelted dignitaries at the event with dangerous objects like hammer, stones and slippers among other things.

Security officials were said to have engaged the unruly elements, eventually managing to disperse them from the venue of the Peoples Democratic Party’s rally.

On Tuesday, January 20, the convoy of the president was allegedly stoned by thugs, who are believed to be supporters of the APC, in Katsina state.
