Suspected cattle rustlers have killed 6 persons in an attack on Kukoki community of Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.

According to the council’s chairman, Mark Jagaba, the attack lasted for 4 hours.

He said the suspects, about 50 stormed the community at about 7am.

Jagaba also said 700 cows were stolen by the attackers including undisclosed number of goats.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Niger State, Bala Elkana, said that two suspects had been arrested and efforts are being made to apprehend others at large.

He said the anti-rustling team was searching the forests, while stating that the number of cows stolen has not been ascertained.
