If you’ve never been to a church that comes off as uncoordinated and noisy, you might not appreciate the value of being in a church that’s simple, coordinated and excellent. I think the idea is that, to many people, until the church building collapses [not literally though] due to the shouts and screams of its inhabitants, then, we haven’t had a glorious service. Far from it, many times, God is glorified in quietness and calmness. Remember the story of Elijah and how he thought God was in the various dramatic manifestations, meanwhile God was present in the cool, calm voice?
So, Church Crawler duties landed us at The Elevation Church, Lekki. Well, not the Lekki experience though but the internet experience. You get the gist right? Church crawler joined the live stream on YouTube.
Elevation Church, Lekki is a new generation Pentecostal Church with a large percentage of its attendants to be youth (or so it seems).
From the worship to the prayer, the value for coordination and calmness was evident. And their worship team…. Heavenly! We worshipped to popular and unpopular worship anthems which further made it interesting. Rather than chew our mouths to the unpopular songs, the lyrics were projected on the screen. How thoughtful!
It was the third service, so special time was given to those who had some special things to thank God for in the month, baby dedication e.t.c.
The prayer session was quite a unique one. It was heartfelt and soulful. You could almost reach out to the heart of everyone in service literally. The air of sincerity, although from the angle of a YouTube viewer was glaring.
Then, the special dancing session again. The Elevation Priests of Praise (The Church Praise Team) gave us a nice delicacy of joyous celebration for their special ministration. Whether they did it better or not, I can’t exactly say, but it was excellently done.
Then, the minister scheduled to preach mounted the podium. It wasn’t Pastor Godman, the lead Pastor. No! Pastor Godman and his family, as I learned were on a special vacation..
He announced the topic of the message and just before he could go on.

This wasn’t the right time for a YouTube video to buffer. After a while, the video came live but it didn’t last. I did all I could but the network just decided to make itself great that afternoon.
Your guess is right! The network didn’t allow me listen to the rest of the service.
It was painful and understandably so.
After several attempts at restoring the network, I gave up. This, I think is one of the greatest limitations of the advancement of the Internet church in Nigeria. Well, apart from the need for fellowship with others in a physical location. Hopefully, one day, we will talk more on this subject on The Church Blog.
Till I attend that church and church crawler crawls into our church, better be prepared, “for the hour cometh…”
