Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has denied that he is involved in the ordeal of a former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Adoke (SAN) after he was picked up by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
Adoke had written a letter to Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo naming Atiku as one of the key people behind his travails as he is enmeshed in the Malibu oil scam.
In a statement released on Tuesday, February 23 by his media adviser, Paul Ibe, the former vice president dismissed such claims and advised Adoke and everyone invited by the EFCC to clear their respective names instead of bringing innocent people into the mix.
The statement said: “The former Vice-President does not have a hand in the travails of the former Attorney General and Minister of Justice.”
“The Turaki Adamawa advises the erstwhile Attorney-General and others so invited to focus on clearing their names instead of dragging innocent people into the fray.”
