According to reports, the police in Kano have arrested a man suspected of being responsible for this afternoon’s bombing.
The bomb went off at the State School of Hygiene in the BUK Road area of the state killing at least 8 people.
12 others were also confirmed to have been injured as authorities say that 20 people were taken to the hospital after the attack.
According to Sahara Reporters:
The Kano State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Adenrele Shinaba, who spoke with journalists briefly after visiting the scene of the crime,said that investigations will begin immediately on the suspect’s motive for the act.
“The suspect is in our custody, and the vehicle he used for the operation has also been towed to the police headquarters,” Shinaba said.
“We will get to know the motive behind the attack, and who sent him on this deadly errand.”
He confirmed that a total of 20 people were taken to the hospital, eight of whom died.
“There was an explosion in the school this afternoon and it happened right inside the school premises. That is why we had to move in,” he said.
