The much talked about National Conference, also known as the confab, will start today after being inaugurated by President Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja.
The National Assembly will receive reports of the meetings for likely adoption as executive bills.
A large portion of the population is still wary about the confab especially because of the cost occasioned by it and the fact that it has no legal backing.
The budget presented for the National Conference will see a sum of N7 billion being spent on 429 delegates, many of whom are not seen by the populace as representing the country’s interests.
Hotels in Abuja are said to have been overtaken by the confab delegates who are expected to resume at the inauguration venue by 10 a.m. today.
The conference will take place at the National Judicial Institute, along the Airport Road in the Jabi area of Abuja.
