For a nation that boasts of over 200 tribes and languages, generalization can sometimes be dangerous.
To many across the shore, there are only three tribes in Nigeria – Yoruba, Ibo and Hausa – when in actual fact, those are simply the three major tribes.
In spite of our collective understanding of these – even as Nigerians – we still are guilty of generalization.
But for some, enough is enough.
According to Twitter user – @faruksm – the north is not just one region and henceforth, shouldn’t be lumped together.
It’s funny how Kanuri, Nupe, Hausa, Fulani etc, all with distinct cultures and languages are grouped together as “the north” or one region

Meanwhile the country is split into 6 geopolitical zones. 3 north, 3 south. But it’s easier for the lazy person to say “the north”

So dear intellectual bastard, when next you say lazily say “the north”, specify whether it is the Kanuri, Hausa, Fulani, Gwari or Nupe part

Seems the words “middle belt” and “core north” are only used when it’s election time. After that, lump them back together again forcefully
