Ondo State governor-elect, Rotimi Akeredolu on Wednesday paid a courtesy visit to outgoing governor, Olusegun Mimiko at the governor’s office, Akure, Ondo State capital.
They would be meeting for the first time after Akeredolu’s victory at the polls against candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Eyitayo Jegede.
While speaking, Mimiko promised to ensure a seamless transition to the governor-elect.
He said it was the first time a civilian government will hand over to another in the state.
The governor said, “It is unusual for an incoming governor to be this generous. We are making history because in the history of this state, this is the first civilian to civilian transition that will be seamless and I’m proud to be part of this history.”
Akeredolu commended the outgoing governor, stating that he had displayed exemplary leadership quality in various capacities he had served.
