The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Friday responded to comments made by the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), John Oyegun Odigie that the latter has no moral right to criticize President Buhari on the economic situation of the country.
Oyegun had said the PDP almost ruined Nigeria during its 16 years reign, alleging that the party mismanaged $15bn belonging to the Nigerian people.
PDP on its official Twitter handle, @PdpNigeria responded on Friday.
The party while quoting figures said inflation was at 9.6% when it left government but now at 16.5% under the Buhari Administration. According to the PDP, the GDP average growth per annum has fallen from 8% to 2.3% since it left power.
The party also quoted figures of decrease in employment rates, increase per capita income and non-oil revenue.
The party also challenged the Buhari administration to publicly try former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki and all other members accused of corruption.
PDP also reminded Oyegun that President Buhari was once an Head of State where he played a significant role in the state of Nigeria as well as member of the Abacha-led government.
