24-year-old vigilante, John James, picked the wrong house to rob when he went to wave his cutlass in his victim’s house.
Apparently, he had no idea he was going to rob the person who would send him to jail.
James is facing a two-count charge of attempt to commit felony in addition to stealing and going around with a cutlass in public.
The prosecutor, Sergeant Olufemi Omilana, said James jumped the perimeter fence into a building belonging to a sitting judge (name withheld) in Oyo State by 4a.m. on August 2nd in an attempt to steal.
Accosted by the security man of the house, Mr. Sunday Ojedele, the accused, alleged to be a vigilante in the area jumped out of the judge’s compound and failed to disclose what happened to him and his colleagues.
The prosecutor also said that the accused, while armed with a cutlass, was going around in public in a manner as to cause terror to Ojedele.
