An unidentified man was tackled to the floor and arrested earlier today after trying to steal the Olympic flame in Brazil.

The shocking incident occurred when the Olympic flame was passing through the Brazilian town of Guarulhos, Sao Paulo.

In a video clip showing the incident, the flame bearer, who is believed to be Patricia de Albuquerque, can be seen running along the road surrounded by at least ten security officials on foot.

The man, who was arrested on suspicion of assault and an attempt to steal Olympic property, was later taken to an unknown location.
