The police in Lagos State has stopped an attempt by unknown to kidnap an Indian national in Ikorodu area of the state.

This was confirmed on Thursday by the Commissioner of Police in the state, Fatai Owoseni during his weekly news briefing.

According to Owoseni, the Indian was working at a construction site when the kidnap attempt was made.

He said suspected kidnappers were taking him to their boats when they were stopped by the police.

He, however said the kidnappers escaped in their boat, leaving the Indian behind.

“Our men were able to rescue the Indian national before the kidnappers could take him into the creeks. The suspects, however, escaped in their boat,” he said.

Owoseni urged Lagosians to report any strange movements to the police station nearest to them.
