The Minister of State for Agriculture, Heineken Lokpobiri, during a public hearing on the recent attacks by herdsmen in the country at the National Assembly in Abuja, declared that the marauding herdsmen are not Nigerians.

Heineken revealed that most of the herdsmen arrested by security forces could not speak any Nigerian language and they were believed to be natives of the other countries bordering the Northern states of Nigeria.

“We have discovered that the herdsmen, attacking Nigerians across the country, are not Fulani but another gang of Boko Haram insurgents from other countries,” he said.

“Those arrested cannot speak Fulani or any other Nigerian language. Fulani herdsmen are going about with their legitimate business, looking for something to take care of their family.”
