Following the demand by the Presidency that President Goodluck Jonathan’s name be removed from the list of “Africa’s Richest Presidents 2014”, the website, RichestLifestyle.com, has done the needful

The article, which was published on 6 September, no longer has President Jonathan’s entry in it any more. The entry for 6th position now says, “This article has been removed. The net worth was evaluated by Celebrity Net Worth.”

The Presidency had condemned the inclusion of President Goodluck Jonathan in the publication titled “Africa’s Richest Presidents 2014”, where he was placed as the sixth richest African Head of State with a net worth of about $100 Million U.S. Dollars.

The President’s Spokesperson, Reuben Abati, had released a statement saying there was no factual basis for the Jonathan’s inclusion in the list. He described it as another attempt to unjustifiably portray him President as a corrupt leader and incite public disaffection against him.

Abati demanded for a retraction and an unreserved apology from RichestLifestyle.com and all those who have the offensive article, stating that they should be otherwise prepared to substantiate their libellous claims against the President in courts of law within and outside Nigeria.
