Rochas Okorocha accused of theft

Okorocha

Former Speaker House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha, has accused the Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha of copying some aspects of his campaign manifesto.

Ihedioha was the Imo state governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the last general elections.

The lawmaker, who went head-to-head with incumbent governor, Okorocha, has alleged that the latter stole from his manifesto, titled- “Together we will rebuild Imo”.

Ihedioha said: “We are not unaware of the fact that Governor Okorocha secretly obtained copies of the manifesto with a view to stealing aspects of it since he does not have and could not articulate any working document for the state.”

The former Speaker’s media aide, Chibuike Onyeukwu, released a statement to this effect, saying that the manifesto was comprehensively researched and articulated by experts as his working document towards rebuilding the state.

Sections of the manifesto allegedly copied by Okorocha, was stated in the release.

The section says: “We shall undertake an aggressive investment drive both within and outside Nigeria to attract industrialists to establish factories and industries in various LGAs that have comparative advantage in the production of particular goods and services where necessary, the government will jump-start the industrialisation process using the  PPP.

“We shall create 274,500 Imo employers of labour in the first two years- 135 manufacturing activities, localised in 27 LGs in Imo (5 per LGA).”
