Former Head of State, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari has called on the new Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi to support the government in its fight against terrorism.
Sanusi who was announced as the new Emir of Kano yesterday has been officially turbaned by Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso in a short ceremony.
In a press statement made public by the former head of state, Buhari urged Sanusi to rule with divine fear.
According to the statement, Buhari advised Sanusi to “cultivate all and exclude none.”
“Your immediate duty is to rally the people to support the government in fighting terrorism and unrest. You should also bring your wealth of experience in assisting the economic revival of the state and the country,” he added.
Buhari reminded Sanusi that he is assuming an office that was once occupied by such great historical figures such Muhammadu Rumfa, Ibrahim Dabo, Abdullahi Bayero, and Muhammadu Sanusi, and urged him to strive to be a worthy successor to those great men.
