David Mark would have spent 20 years in the Senate by 2019, barring any unforeseen circumstances.
A petition filed by Daniel Onjeh against the victory of former Senate President, Senator David Mark has been dismissed by the Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Makurdi, Benue State.
Onjeh of the All Progressive Congress had challenged the victory of the Peoples Democratic Party candidate at the Benue South Senatorial election.
The Judge presiding over the tribunal, Mosumola Dipeolu, would however, rule on Tuesday, that Onjeh failed to establish any case against Mark.
Dipelou said Onjeh and his party could not prove against reasonable doubt, allegations of rigging, multiple thumb-printing, over stuffing of ballots, allocation of votes, intimidation, harassment and inducement of voters among others.
According to the judge, Onjeh also failed to substantiate any of his claims, pointing out that one of his witnesses had accepted that there was error in his data analysis, during cross examination.
