BudgIT, Nigeria’s civic startup is launching a mobile version of its website which will be accessible via multiple smart mobile devices.
BudgIT’s efforts at communicating complex issues relating to budget and public finance has transformed the discussion about the budget on social media and offline gatherings.
The company has worked with the urban young people mostly connected to the internet via smartphones and now seeks to expand its reach by building relevant applications to access Nigeria’s 2013 budget, monthly allocations and capital projects in their areas of interest.
Since 65 per cent of current users access to its website via mobile, BudgIT recognizes the need to engage citizens via mobile platforms. It is also working on introducing interesting game tools to entertain a younger audience.
