The Thread: “Buhari is a bigot and a sadist” | Nigerians are worried about the president’s perceived nepotism

Early Monday, the Twitter account, @chairmanNHRC tweeted a photo of a highlighted page of Ambassador Olu Sanu’s book, Audacity on the Bound: A Diplomatic Odyssey. In page 512 of the book, the diplomat recounted how on a trip to West Germany (now Germany), Buhari, who was then Nigeria’s Petroleum Minister did not utter a word to him. He added that Buhari spoke to only the Ambassador-in-post on arrival – and this was done in the Hausa language.

The section of the book raised reactions, as some Nigerians on Twitter tore the president to shreds, labelling a bigot and a sadist, while others had pity for Sanu, who campaigned for Buhari ahead of the 2015 elections.
