Yesterday was June 12, “Nigeria’s real Democracy Day”. It’s a day where certain state government and all of Nigeria remember the sacrifice of a certain man in the interest of liberty, democracy and a detribalised Nigeria. The man is Moshood Kashimawo Abiola.
@andyRoidO draws from the story of Abiola to explain its impact on the Nigerian people and what we can do differently.

First of all, MKO Abiola was my President from the moment he declared himself so until the moment he died without assuming office.

Abiola rose to the occasion by declaring himself President. History will remember him for it.

President Abiola made the bitter choice of remaining in prison rather than deny the mandate. We must honour this.
