Party politics have always been attached to catchy slogans and even catchier jingles. This is what makes the party memorable in the minds of Nigeria, apart from the candidate representing the party. Along with catchy slogans and music is the token manifesto. Token because a candidate might run on the items in that manifesto, but after winning, have the temerity to say he never endorsed said manifesto.
Nigeria is quite a strange place.
Since last year, we’ve been swimming in the depths of economic recession made possible by horrible economic policies and refusal to face reality. Now, we’ve gotten aids from Paris Club and the 1BN Eurobond, but would these monies be sufficient to keep Nigeria economically stable 10, 15 years from now?
