Today’s Daily Brief: Buhari, Osinbajo will publicly declare their assets, Gbajabiamila wins APC primaries, Monguno emerges deputy, and more

President Muhammadu Buhari, says his assets and those of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, will be released to the public, immediately after the completion of their verification by the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).

Buhari hopes that this process will be completed before the expiry of the 100-day deadline within which they promised to publicly declare their assets, during their campaign.

Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State have summoned Petroleum Products Tanker Drivers’ Union and stakeholders to an emergency meeting on Monday, June 8.

The meeting, Ambode said, would address the incessant petrol tanker-induced fires in the state.

The governor gave the directive on Saturday during a visit to the scene of the early morning petrol tanker fire at Idimu area of the state.

Sokoto North Local Government Area has reinstated about 480 workers, who were sacked by the immediate past administration.

The Caretaker Chairman of the Council, Alhaji Aminu Ibrahim, disclosed to news men on Saturday in Sokoto when he gave his nine-month stewardship.

He said the affected workers were sacked by the immediate past administration, adding that they were reinstated on compassionate grounds.
